March was International Listening Awareness Month. In honor of that, I wanted to share some of my favorite anonymous quotations on listening.
History repeats itself because no one listens the first time.
Conversations: A vocal competition in which one who is catching his breath is called the listener.
If you want your spouse to pay strict attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.
Isn't amazing how much smarter our parents are the older we get? Could it be that we never really listened to what they had to say when we were younger?
The moral is that when you spend your time listening instead of talking, you learn more from the people around you. Remember: We have two ears but only one mouth, so we can listen twice as much as we speak! (That one may be from Epictetus, ca. 55-135 A.D.)
And if you ever need someone who is willing to listen, I'm here for you. Enjoy your month!
